How to find the RTSP URL for a Wyze camera

Wyze treated RTSP as a side project for years: a separate beta firmware you flashed at your own risk, which lagged the main firmware and was eventually pulled from the download page. That changed in late 2025, when RTSP started arriving in the ordinary firmware, though only on some models. So the honest answer to "does my Wyze do RTSP" is a model list rather than a yes or no.

Which models can do it

• Cam v3 and Cam Pan v3: RTSP is built into the current official firmware (the rollout began in February 2026) and is switched on in the Wyze app, version 3.9 or later.
• Cam v3 Pro and Cam Pan v2: in beta testing at the time of writing, with Wyze saying the work isn't finished. Worth checking Advanced Settings for an RTSP entry after a firmware update.
• Cam v2 and the original Cam Pan: the old separate RTSP firmware, flashed from a microSD card. It keeps working where it's already installed, but Wyze has removed the downloads from its site.
• Cam v4, Cam OG, the battery cameras and the doorbells: no RTSP path from Wyze at all.

Enabling it on a Cam v3 or Pan v3

Update the camera's firmware and the Wyze app, open the camera's live view, tap the settings gear, then Advanced Settings > RTSP, and choose Set Up. You'll create a username and password for the stream (separate from your Wyze account login) and pick standard RTSP or the encrypted RTSPS variant. The app then shows the exact URL, which in Wyze's own documentation looks like rtsp://camera-ip:554/stream0/ for standard and rtsps://camera-ip:322/stream0/ for secure; players that don't prompt for credentials accept them inline, as rtsp://username:password@camera-ip:554/stream0/. Trust the URL on your screen over any pattern published on the web, this page included, because Wyze has changed the format between firmware generations. Early adopters have also reported streams that drop after a few hours, so it's worth leaving VLC open on the URL for a while before you build anything on top of it.

The old firmware for the Cam v2 and Pan

The original RTSP path was a separate firmware for the Cam v2 and the first Cam Pan, flashed by putting a renamed file on a microSD card and holding the Setup button while powering on, with a beta build later offered for the Cam v3. Once flashed, the app's Advanced Settings gained an RTSP toggle and a Generate URL button, and the URL it produced took the form rtsp://username:password@camera-ip/live. Wyze always called this firmware a beta, warned it wouldn't gain new features, and has now removed the files from its support site while it decides what to do with them. If one of your cameras is already running it, it carries on working; if not, there's no official download to start from.

If your model can't do RTSP

Community projects exist that bridge Wyze cameras into RTSP by signing into your Wyze account and restreaming the feed, and for the v4 and OG they're the only route. They work for plenty of people, but they're unofficial, unsupported by Wyze, and liable to break when the firmware or Wyze's cloud side changes, so treat them as a hobbyist path rather than something to run a business on. The plainer options are a phone pointed at the same spot, which Svid treats as a first-class camera, or a camera that exposes RTSP natively, which the general RTSP guide covers. Ring owners have the same conversation with a shorter answer: no RTSP at all.

Using it with Svid

Once a Wyze camera is serving a working RTSP URL, it connects to Svid the same way as any other brand: paste the URL into the Add screen and Svid captures the stream server-side, with no new hardware and no viewer to keep running. The feed is described frame by frame and becomes searchable in plain English, with the same checks and alerts as footage from an upload or a phone.

Does the Wyze Cam v4 support RTSP?

No. Wyze hasn't released RTSP firmware or a built-in RTSP option for the v4, and the same goes for the OG and the battery models. Unofficial bridge projects can restream them, with the caveats above, but there's no supported route.

What is the Wyze RTSP URL format?

On the current built-in support (Cam v3 and Pan v3) the app shows the URL, typically rtsp://camera-ip:554/stream0/, with credentials embeddable in front of the address. Do I still need to flash special firmware for Wyze RTSP?

Does Wyze RTSP need a Cam Plus subscription?
