Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Svid. By creating an account, starting a demo, or using the service, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

The service
Svid (svid.ai) turns footage you provide — CCTV, uploads, video URLs, a live phone or an IP camera — into searchable descriptions, with configurable checks that raise alerts and write reports. In these terms “we”, “us” and “Svid” refer to the operator of svid.ai, and “you” means the person or organisation using the service.
Your account
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for anyone you authorise to access it.
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and using Svid for business or lawful personal purposes.
- Demo accounts are temporary: demo footage and demo accounts are automatically deleted after a short period unless you convert to a full account. Converting keeps your footage.
- You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion permanently removes your footage and derived data.
Your footage and your responsibilities
You keep ownership of the footage you provide and everything the service derives from it for you. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service — to store, process, analyse and display your footage back to you and the people you authorise.
You agree that you will only submit footage that you have the legal right to record and process. In particular you must:
- Comply with all laws that apply to your cameras and recordings — including surveillance, data-protection and consent requirements in your jurisdiction (for example signage where required, and rules about recording employees or the public).
- Only connect cameras, streams and URLs you own or are authorised to monitor.
- Not use the service to stalk, harass or unlawfully surveil any person, or to infringe anyone's rights.
- Not attempt to probe, overload or disrupt the service, resell it without our agreement, or use it to build a competing dataset.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or create risk for us, other customers or the public.
What our AI does — and doesn’t do
Svid describes images, checks conditions on them, and embeds those descriptions so they can be searched. We do not perform facial recognition, build biometric profiles, or track individuals across cameras.
AI output is probabilistic. Descriptions, search results, alerts and reports are best-effort assistance, not a guarantee: a check can miss an event or flag one that didn’t happen. Svid is not a life-safety or emergency-response system and must not be used as your only safeguard against risk to people or property. Verify important findings against the underlying footage.
Plans, credits and billing
- Credits. Usage is metered in prepaid credits. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and — except where the law requires otherwise — are not refundable once purchased.
- Checks and plans. Checks are purchased individually in the Store at the prices shown at checkout. Plans provide capacity (credits, resolution and camera limits) and renew monthly. The price you are quoted at checkout is computed server-side from your setup and is the price you pay.
- Free tier and trial credit. Free-tier allowances and one-time trial credits are promotional, may be changed or withdrawn, and unused monthly free credits do not roll over.
- Auto-recharge is opt-in. With it off, your cameras stop when credits run out and you are not charged; with it on, your saved card is charged your plan amount when credits run low.
- Cancelling. You can cancel your plan at any time from the app; you keep what you’ve paid for through the period already billed, and no further charges are made.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t store your card number.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Svid fast and available, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We may add, change or remove features, and we may set or adjust technical limits (such as resolution, duration or rate caps) to keep the platform healthy.
Intellectual property
We own the service — the software, models’ orchestration, design and content we provide — and you may not copy or reverse engineer it except where the law allows. You own your footage and your custom checks’ conditions; feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill; and our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from footage you submit without the necessary rights or consents, or from your breach of these terms or of applicable surveillance and data-protection law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer protections that apply instead.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you. Your continued use of Svid after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
