Privacy Policy

Svid is built privacy-first. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep over your footage and your data.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Who we are

Svid (svid.ai) provides a video intelligence platform that turns footage — from CCTV, uploads, a video URL or a live phone — into searchable answers, alerts and reports. In this policy “we”, “us” and “Svid” refer to the operator of svid.ai. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

  • Footage and media you provide. Video you upload, stream from a live device, or point us at via a URL, together with the frames, thumbnails, embeddings and text descriptions our system derives from it in order to make it searchable.
  • Account and contact details. Information such as your name, email address and organisation when you create an account or get in touch, and billing details handled by our payment provider when you subscribe.
  • Usage data. Basic technical information — such as device and browser type, IP address and interactions with the product — used to operate, secure and improve the service.
  • Camera access (mobile & web). When you start the live monitor, we request permission to access your device camera so the stream can reach your own dashboard. We only access the camera while you are actively using that feature.

How we use your information

  • To provide the service — analysing your footage so you can search it in plain English, and generating the alerts and reports you configure.
  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve the platform and diagnose technical problems.
  • To communicate with you about your account, billing, support requests and important service notices.
  • To meet our legal, security and compliance obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your footage, and we do not use your footage to train third-party models for unrelated purposes.

No tracking, no facial recognition

Svid is designed for privacy. We do not perform facial recognition, we do not build biometric identity profiles, and we do not track people across cameras. The only AI in the product describes images, checks conditions on them, and embeds the descriptions to make them searchable.

How your footage is stored and shared

Your footage and the data derived from it are processed to deliver the features you use, and are accessible to you and the users you authorise within your organisation. We share data only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers (subprocessors). Trusted vendors who host our infrastructure and run the AI models that analyse footage, acting on our instructions under contract. We ask them to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
  • Legal reasons. Where required to comply with the law, a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Svid, our users or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Data retention

We keep footage and derived data for as long as needed to provide the service to you, and afterwards only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your footage and account data at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to retain it.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children

Svid is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Svid after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
