Child Safety Review: calm answers after the fact
Child Safety Review is a Svid report check for answering questions after the fact: when a parent asks what happened, or an incident needs reviewing, it reconstructs the moment from your existing cameras in minutes, not an evening of scrubbing.
What it does
Svid has already read and described every frame of the day; this check is the review layer over it, reading the whole timeline. Ask in plain English, "the incident by the climbing frame this morning", "when did the child in the green jumper get upset", and get the relevant moments back in order, with links to the footage. The reconstruction that used to take an evening takes about as long as typing the question.
The conversations it changes
The unexplained bruise at pickup. The biting incident with two versions from two rooms. The parent who wants reassurance more than an investigation. In each case the manager can look first, know what happened, and then talk, which is better for everyone involved, including the staff member.
What the output looks like
The found moments, each with a plain-English description and a link to the exact point in the footage, in time order. Enough to answer the question in the room, and to write an accurate incident record afterwards. Anything notable can be delivered by email, and a JSON webhook is there if records go into another system.
Where it runs
Enabling is per camera, so review only covers what you choose. It works on RTSP feeds, uploaded files and recorded exports, which matters here: the question usually arrives after the moment has passed, and recorded footage goes through exactly the same pipeline as live.
Pricing
Report checks are cheap: they start at a $3/month floor, and the Store shows the exact figure from your own usage ("+$X/mo at your usage"). The subscription itself is based on your own usage, minimum $9/month, with the arithmetic shown at signup, alongside the rest of the checks available on the same account.
- A parent has asked what happened today. How fast can I answer?
- Ask in plain English and the relevant moments come back in seconds, in order, with links. You can usually look before you call them back.
- Does it work on footage from before we installed it?
- Yes, upload the recording; recorded and live footage run through the same pipeline.
- What's the difference between this and Child Safety?
- Child Safety is live awareness during the day. This is the review afterwards: what actually happened, reconstructed when a question comes up.
