Daily Summary: the end-of-day email

Daily Summary is a Svid report check that sends one email at the end of the day recapping everything that mattered across your cameras: the events, the alerts, the unusual moments, each linked back to the footage. The day's two hundred hours of video, read for you.

What it does

Svid watches every frame all day, on every camera it's enabled for. Daily Summary is the check that reads the whole timeline back at close and turns it into one email. It isn't a log dump of every frame described in order; it's a recap of what mattered, in plain English, with a link to each moment so anything worth a second look is one click away.

Who reads it

  • The shop or venue manager who wants the shift recap without staying for the shift.
  • The facilities lead covering several floors, who'd rather read one email than watch eight feeds.
  • The nursery that can answer "what did my child do today" from the summary instead of from memory at pickup.

What the email looks like

Expect it organised by camera or by the kind of thing that happened, written in plain sentences rather than a table of codes. A line might read: "17:40, delivery at the rear entrance, driver waited four minutes." Anything the summary raises can be searched further, so if a line mentions the queue building up, a search for "queue longer than four people" pulls up every time it happened that day.

Where it runs

Daily Summary is switched on per camera, so the summary covers the cameras you choose and leaves the rest alone. It works on RTSP feeds from an existing recorder, on uploaded files, on video URLs and on a live phone camera. Recorded footage runs through the same pipeline as live, so you can point it at yesterday's export and see what a summary of your site actually reads like before deciding where to enable it.

What it costs

Report checks are the cheap end of the Store. Before you buy, the Store shows Daily Summary priced from your own usage as "+$X/mo at your usage", and report checks start from a $3 a month floor. It joins a subscription priced from your own usage, with a $9 a month minimum, and the whole derivation is on screen at signup. The pricing section shows the arithmetic.

When does the email arrive?
At the end of the day: a recap of everything that mattered across the cameras Daily Summary is enabled on.
Can different people get different summaries?
Summaries cover whichever cameras the check is enabled on, and delivery is by email or JSON webhook, so a recap can go wherever your team already reads.
Is it a replacement for live alerts?
No. Critical events like a fall or a weapon still raise an alert the moment they happen, through the alerting checks. Daily Summary is the calm read of the whole day, not the thing watching for emergencies in real time.
