How to get daily reports from your security cameras

Alerts are for the moment something happens. Most of what cameras see doesn't need a ping at all; it needs to be in the recap. The delivery that turned up early, the door that was propped open for an hour, the quiet afternoon that wasn't. Today nobody writes that recap, because writing it would mean watching the whole day back, and nobody has that kind of afternoon to spare.

What lands in the summary

Everything that mattered, in plain English. The near-miss at the loading dock. The queue that hit six people at lunchtime. The delivery that arrived while the manager was off site. Because a vision model has described every frame as it happened (people, objects, actions, hazards), a written recap of the day is possible at all, and anything in it that deserves a closer look links into the footage, which stays searchable after the fact.

Two very different readers, same mechanism

For a site or duty manager, it's the shift recap: what happened across the site today, readable in two minutes at close. For a nursery, the same mechanism answers a warmer question, the one every parent asks at pickup: what did my child do today? Same cameras, same pipeline, a very different email. If your version of the question is somewhere in between, it probably fits too.

Summaries plus alerts, not instead of

The summary doesn't replace being told about serious things at once. Alerting checks judge a window of recent frames as footage comes in, so a fall or a concealment reads as an event rather than a single suspicious frame, and the alert goes out on screen, by email or by JSON webhook while it still matters. One event fires one alert; the same check firing again within two minutes is recorded as a continuation, not a new siren. The daily summary is the layer underneath: everything that can wait until the end of the day, in one email instead of forty pings.

What it costs

The price is worked out from your own usage, not a rate card. Onboarding asks four questions, estimates the AI compute your cameras need, and prices from that, with a $9 a month minimum; the whole derivation is on screen before you pay. Daily Summary sits at the cheap end of the Store, because report checks start at a $3 a month floor and are priced as the extra they'd add at your usage. A written recap also doesn't need close watching: the Economy watch level (a frame every 15 seconds) is usually plenty for it.

What's actually in the daily report?

A plain-English recap of everything that mattered on the connected cameras: incidents, notable events, and the operational details a manager would want to know about, like queues, deliveries and hazards. It reads like handover notes written by someone who watched the whole day, because in effect something did.

When does the summary arrive?

At the end of the day, so it's waiting when the shift wraps up. It covers the day's footage from the cameras you've enabled it on.

Can I get a summary per camera or per site?

Both. The Library keeps footage in nested folders, so a site can be one folder, and Daily Summary can be run on a single camera's footage or across a whole folder in one action. Coverage follows exactly what you run it on.

Do I still get instant alerts for serious events?

Yes. Alerting checks like Weapon Alert or Fall / Slip Detection raise the alarm as events happen, on screen, by email or by webhook. The daily summary is the layer for everything else, the things worth knowing about but not worth interrupting anyone for.
