How to monitor PPE compliance on site

A PPE walk-round samples a few minutes of a shift. Someone with a clipboard covers as much of the site as they can before the next meeting, and the seven hours and fifty minutes they're not there go unobserved. People also tend to remember their hard hat when the auditor's about, which is exactly the bias you don't want in your numbers.

Cameras as the audit that never clocks off

The cameras already covering the yard and the racking aisles see every shift, not a sample of one. Point Svid at those feeds and a vision model reads every frame, so "person without a hard hat in the racking aisle" is something it notices at the moment it happens, on every camera, all shift, not just when someone's walking round with a form.

Zones, because rules differ by area

PPE requirements aren't uniform across a site, so the check isn't either. Worth being straight about what this is. Svid shows you what's happening on camera, reliably and without getting tired by hour six. Can cameras really spot a missing hard hat?

Yes. The vision model describes people and what they're wearing in every kept frame, so a missing hard hat or hi-vis vest is something it reads directly, without needing to be told to look for it in that moment.

Can different areas have different PPE rules?
