PPE Compliance: hard hats and hi-vis, checked by the cameras
PPE Compliance is a Svid check that watches your existing cameras for missing PPE, no hard hat in the yard, no hi-vis on the loading dock, and flags it as it happens or rolls it up into a daily report. It's set per zone, so the rule matches the site: hard hats where things fall, hi-vis where things move.
What it does
Svid's vision model already describes the people in every frame, including what they're wearing. PPE Compliance is a paid check over those descriptions that compares what's on camera against the PPE rule for that camera's zone, and flags the gaps. No new cameras, no tags, no training on your site.
Per zone, not blanket
The rule belongs to the camera, not the site. The yard camera can expect hard hats and hi-vis, the packing bench camera might only expect hi-vis, and the canteen camera can expect nothing at all. That's what enabling a check per camera means in practice: the same site runs different rules in different rooms.
Alert now or report daily
Both delivery modes exist, and the honest trade-off is speed against volume. For zones where you'd act immediately, an alert lands by email, "person without a hard hat near the racking, camera 4", with a link to the moment. For everything else, a daily summary rolls up the day's lapses with clips, built for the toolbox talk rather than a live response. A JSON webhook carries either event into an H&S system you already run.

Where it runs and what it costs
PPE Compliance runs on RTSP feeds from your existing recorder, uploaded files, or a phone camera propped on a temporary work area. Cloud mode is the default; a fully on-prem appliance mode exists for sites that keep footage on premises. - Which PPE can it check for?
- The visible and plainly describable: hard hats, hi-vis and similar obvious kit a camera can actually see. If a camera can't see it, the check can't flag it.
- Does this make my site HSE compliant?
- No. It gives you visibility of lapses on camera. Compliance is your policies, training and processes; this shows you what's actually happening against them.
- Will staff be identified in alerts?
- No facial recognition, no biometric IDs. Alerts describe outfit and location, and a supervisor takes it from there.
