Multi-site CCTV management: every site in one Library

Svid puts a multi-site estate into one Library with a folder per site, and the search bar reads the folder you're in plus everything beneath it, so a single plain-English query covers every branch. Alerts from all sites land in one filterable tab, and there's no people tracking and no facial recognition anywhere in the product, deliberately.


One site's footage is already unwatchable; forty sites' footage is forty recorders, forty sets of logins and a review backlog nobody will ever clear. Every question from head office (did the overnight delivery reach Leeds, what happened at the Croydon entrance at closing) turns into a phone call to whoever holds the password, and then into hours of somebody's scrubbing.

One Library, a folder per site

In Svid, footage lives in a Library that works like a file manager. Folders nest as deep as you like (stores/london/entrance), hold live cameras and recorded clips together, and move by drag and drop. The obvious layout is the right one: a folder per site, subfolders per area, readable at a glance by someone who joined the team on Monday.

One search across every site

The search bar reads the folder you're standing in, subfolders included. From the top of stores/ a single query like “person in a red jacket near the till” covers every site's footage in one pass; step into stores/leeds and the same bar quietly narrows to one branch. Nobody logs into forty recorders, and nobody watches a wall of tiles on the off-chance.

Checks that run per folder

Checks are the paid watchers from the Store, and a check runs across a whole folder in one action. Select stores/ and every camera beneath it gets the same watcher; select a single site to treat it differently. The ones estate teams tend to start with:

  • Theft Watch flags concealment and likely shoplifting as the frames arrive, at whichever branch it happens.
  • Weapon Alert covers the events that can't wait for the morning review.
  • Anomaly Detector is the catch-all for estates too varied to write a rule per site.
  • Daily Summary writes a readable recap per site folder, so the day starts with short reports rather than a review queue.

Every alert in one place

Everything flagged lands in one Alerts tab, filterable, whichever site it came from. One event fires one alert; the same check re-firing within two minutes is recorded as a continuation rather than a fresh siren, which matters when forty sites would otherwise compete for attention. Delivery is on screen, by email, or as a JSON webhook into the ticketing or messaging the team already runs.

What it costs and where it runs

Pricing is the same arithmetic at one site or fifty: based on your own usage, with a $9 a month minimum. Signup asks four questions (business type, what to watch for, camera count, hours a day) and then shows the whole derivation on screen before you pay, with all three watch levels priced side by side. Frames where nothing moved cost nothing, and the Store prices each check as the extra it would add at your own usage.

It's cloud by default, reading the RTSP feeds your recorders already produce, so a rollout means pointing it at each site's cameras rather than refitting anything. For estates that can't send frames to the cloud, there's a fully on-prem appliance mode where nothing leaves the network; appliances keep 30 days of footage by default, configurable up to keeping everything. And if you'd rather ask a human something before wiring in forty sites, there's support.

Can Svid follow a person from one site to another?
No, and that's a decision rather than a gap. There's no re-identification in the product, and no biometrics of any kind. You can search each site's footage for a description like “man in the green parka” and read the moments it finds; connecting them across sites stays a human judgement.
How do alerts work across a large estate?
Everything lands in one filterable Alerts tab. One event is one alert, and a check re-firing within two minutes is logged as the same event continuing. Email and JSON webhooks carry alerts into whatever the control room already watches.
What does it cost across many sites?
Based on your own usage for your profile (cameras, hours a day, watch level), floored at $9 a month. The estimate is discounted for motion gating, so a quiet overnight camera costs much less than a busy entrance, and the full working is on screen at signup before any card details.
Can it run without sending footage to the cloud?
Cloud is the default, and footage stays in your account either way, never used beyond it. Where frames genuinely can't leave the building, an on-prem appliance mode runs local models with nothing leaving the network, defaulting to 30-day retention.
