Care home monitoring technology that respects the people in it

Night cover is thin. Two or three staff, dozens of rooms, rounds every hour or two. A resident who falls at 2:15 is found at 3:30, and everything about the outcome depends on that gap. The camera in the corridor saw the fall at 2:15; it just had no way to say so.

What Svid watches for at night

These checks are optional AI steps over the same footage. You choose which cameras and folders Svid watches, which matters here: a home can cover corridors, lounges and communal areas without touching any room it doesn't want watched.

• Bed Exit Alert flags the moment a resident who shouldn't be up alone leaves the bed, before the walk becomes a fall.
• Fall / Slip Detection raises the alarm when someone goes down, wherever a camera can see. It judges a window of recent frames, so a fall reads as an event, not a snapshot.
• Hand Hygiene Compliance gives a quiet picture of whether washing actually happens where it should, without anyone standing over staff.

The price comes from your own setup, not a rate card, with a $9 a month minimum. Onboarding shows the arithmetic on screen across all three watch levels before you pay, and any check you add later is priced in the Store from your own usage.

Alerts that reach the person on shift

Alerts land on screen, by email, or as a JSON webhook into whatever call or paging system the home already runs. One event fires one alert; the same check firing again within two minutes is recorded as the event continuing, not a new siren. A Daily Summary report can give the day shift an honest recap of the night, which beats reconstructing it from memory and incident forms.

Getting started

Create an account at app.svid.ai, answer four questions about the home, and the price appears with its derivation before you pay. Then point Svid at the RTSP feeds from the recorder you already have, choosing exactly which cameras and folders it watches. There's no new hardware on the walls, and nothing worn by residents. If you'd rather see it work before going live, it reads a folder of exported footage the same way it reads a feed, and a check can run across the whole folder in one action.

How quickly would we know if a resident had fallen?

As the footage comes in. Fall / Slip Detection judges a window of recent frames, so a fall reads as an event rather than a single frame, and the alert goes out on screen, by email or by webhook the moment the check fires. On the Precise watch level Svid reads a frame every second.

Do residents or families have to consent to facial recognition?

There's none to consent to. Svid does no facial recognition, keeps no biometric IDs and tracks nobody; the AI describes scenes and checks conditions on them. We built it that way on purpose. The normal CCTV duties still apply, so you'll still need signage, a retention policy and a lawful basis.

Does footage of our residents go to the cloud?

In cloud mode, frames go to the vision model to be described, and footage stays in your account and is never used beyond it. Homes that can't allow that can run the fully on-prem appliance, where local models do the describing and nothing leaves the network. Appliances keep 30 days of footage by default, and that's configurable.

Can we use it only in corridors and lounges, not bedrooms?

Yes. You choose exactly which cameras and folders Svid watches, and checks run only on the footage you point them at. Plenty of homes would sensibly start with corridors and communal areas and go no further.
