Hand Hygiene Compliance: visibility on the basics

What it does

Svid already reads every frame of your footage and describes what's happening in it. Hand Hygiene Compliance is a paid check over those descriptions that takes note of hand hygiene activity at the stations you point it at: washing at a sink, gel on the way into a room. It builds a picture of practice as it actually is, rather than as it looks during the one hour someone is stood there with a clipboard.

Why clipboard audits mislead

The trouble with an observed audit is a well known one: practice tends to improve the moment someone is watching, then drift back once they leave. A camera that was already on the wall doesn't change anyone's morning routine. What it sees is the ordinary pattern, on an ordinary day, which is the only pattern actually worth improving.

What the output looks like

Activity at each station is logged and searchable, so "hand gel station by the east entrance this morning" turns up the moments in seconds. Notable gaps can also arrive by email with a plain description and a link to the clip, or as a JSON webhook into whatever your team already uses. The point is material for a team conversation or a training session, not a scoreboard.

Where it runs

Like every check, it's switched on per camera and only at the stations you choose: a sink, a gel dispenser, a room entrance, and nowhere else. It works on RTSP feeds from an existing recorder, on uploaded files, on video URLs, and on a live phone camera propped by a sink if coverage is thin there. Recorded footage works too, so you can build a week's baseline from what you've already got before anything changes. It runs in the cloud by default, and a fully on-prem appliance mode exists for sites where footage can't leave the building.

Is this used to discipline staff?

That's not what it's for. It shows practice at the stations you choose so a team can see and improve the pattern together, with no facial recognition, no biometric IDs and no named individuals involved.

Which points does it watch?

Only the cameras you enable it on, whether that's a sink, a gel station or a room entrance. Everything else on your account stays out of scope.

Does it replace hand hygiene audits?

It gives continuous visibility instead of a sampled hour. Whether a home or ward uses that alongside its existing audit process, or in place of some of it, is its own call.
