Bed Exit Alert: know when a resident is up

Bed Exit Alert is a Svid check that alerts staff when a resident leaves their bed, using the cameras already in the room or corridor. No pressure mats to reset, no wearables to charge or forget, nothing attached to the resident.

What it does

Svid already describes every frame of your footage. Bed Exit Alert is a check that watches for the moment a resident gets up: sitting up and swinging legs out, standing, leaving the bed area. When it happens, staff know while it's happening rather than on the next round.

Nights are the point

Cover is thinnest at night and rounds are furthest apart, which is exactly when residents get up. An alert that arrives as someone stands means a carer can be there for the walk to the bathroom, not after it.

What an alert looks like

A plain description and a link to the moment, on screen, by email, or by JSON webhook if the home has a nurse-call or messaging system that accepts one. A typical alert reads: "Resident in room 12 is out of bed, 02:47." The alert is a prompt for a person, not a judgement.

Where it runs

Bed Exit Alert is switched on per camera, room by room. It works on RTSP feeds from existing cameras, and a live phone camera works for a room without wiring. Recorded footage runs through the same pipeline, so a home can trial it on past footage before it goes live on a room. There's no proprietary hardware to fit; it runs on what's already on the wall.

What it costs

There's no rate card. The Store prices Bed Exit Alert from your own usage before you buy, shown as "+$X/mo at your usage" next to the check. It's added to a monthly subscription priced from your own usage with a $9 a month floor, and the whole derivation is on screen at signup. The pricing section walks through the arithmetic.

How is this different from a pressure mat?
Nothing to place, reset or trip over, and nothing that fires when a resident rolls over. The alert comes when someone actually gets up.
How is it different from fall detection?
Bed Exit Alert is before the event: someone is up. Fall / Slip Detection is the safety net if a fall happens. Homes often run both on the same camera.
Do residents have to wear anything?
No. There are no wearables, so nothing to charge, lose or forget to put back on.
